commissioned family Portraits

For as long as I can remember I have loved drawing people. In fact one of my favourite photos of me as a child is me drawing my parents' portrait. It wasn’t an accurate likeness (I was five at the time) but there was a lot of enthusiasm there!

That passion never died and I still find so much joy in capturing the likeness of a person. I’ve worked hard to build up my skills for my portrait business. 

I am always learning something new and bringing that across into each and every portrait that I draw.

So, what is it that makes a drawing special? Well, I believe that a successful portrait needs to capture the person's personality. It needs to ‘feel’ like them. 
If I don’t feel like I’ve achieved that then the portrait isn’t finished yet.

Family portraits make great gifts and hold memories in a very special way. More often than not I work from multiple photos to piece together the perfect family portrait. I provide a mock-up image to my clients for approval before the drawing begins, so you will know what it will look like before I start.

I work remotely and ship portraits across Australia and internationally. I work entirely from photos so getting the right image is important to creating a remarkable portrait.
A high quality photograph is preferable, but sometimes this isn’t possible. Never be disheartened, as I will do the best with what you provide and have created beautiful portraits from aged or blurry photos.

Photos are ideal if they are shot closer, have good natural lighting and have personality. I recommend you send as many photos as possible so we can select the best portrait!
